When exposed to light this diamond takes on a gray-Greenish yellow color. It actually faces up more of a grayish green color with a small amount of yellow depending on the type and amount of light. When placed in the dark for 30 minutes or more, the green component fades away, and it appears as a fancy yellow! This very rare phenomenon is known as a chameleon effect.(see photo taken imediately out of the dark vault ) This gem diamond also phosphoresces a moderate yellow for about 60 seconds after excitation with U-V light. Due to the facetor leaving a couple of fairly large naturals that may show under very close inspection, we would grade this diamond as an I1 clarity with the potential of improvement with re-cutting. However, with a diamond of this color and phenomena you can understand the cutter wanting to leave the extra size!

This amazing, rare green collector diamond, described as "Chameleon", borrows its name from the chameleon lizard, which changes color in response to environmental changes such as light and temperature changes. As shown in the composite photograph, clock wise from top left, this amazing green diamond is a straw-yellow color immediately upon removal from prolonged darkness.
