Pink is one of the very rare colors of Natural colored diamonds. The color in this diamond is totally natural and has not been enhanced or treated in any way. The face up color of this diamond is more saturated than most "fancy color" pink diamonds due to the slight orange being the color modifier. This "gem" diamond faces up as eye clean to the unaided eye. It is only slightly included (visible under 10 X magnification) and a very pretty gem. We would put it’s clarity in the VS-2 to SI-1 range. Considering the dwindling supply of rare pink diamonds to the market, at $31000.00 this particular beauty is very well priced. The G.I.A. certificate will be included.

When exposed to light this diamond takes on a gray-Greenish yellow color. When placed in the dark for 30 minutes or more, the green component fades away, and it appears as a fancy yellow! This very rare phenomenon is known as a chameleon effect. Due to the facetor leaving a couple of fairly large naturals that may show under very close inspection, we would grade this diamond as an I1 clarity with the potential of improvement with re-cutting. However, with a diamond of this color and phenomena you can understand the cutter wanting to leave the extra size!

From its GIA Diamond Certificate: "NATURAL, Fancy Gray-Greenish Yellow. The color of this stone changes temporarily when heated or when left in darkness for a period of time and is known in the trade as CHAMELEON".

Item: Diamond (faceted): NATURAL, Fancy Brownish Pink

This amazing, rare green collector diamond, described as "Chameleon", borrows its name from the chameleon lizard, which changes color in response to environmental changes such as light and temperature changes. As shown in the composite photograph, clock wise from top left, this amazing green diamond is a straw-yellow color immediately upon removal from prolonged darkness. The photo shows the same diamond at approximately 5 to 10 second intervals. At approximately one (1) minute, it reaches the grayish-yellowish-green that is the diamond's "stable" state of color. It will remain this color in ordinary day light conditions until gently heated or put into a darkened environment for a period of time.
