Most of its surfaces were worn smooth from the natural action of the ancient river, and there are some areas on its surface with very beautiful chatoyancy that changes colors from light to dark as the specimen is turned. This completely natural cat's eye sillimanite piece makes a very nice specimen just as it is, although it does have a good blocky shape and could also be used as lapidary rough to make a unique carving or cabochon gems.
