This "domed" specimen of polished Jacare quartz (also referred to as elestial or skeletal quartz) shows classic skeletal quartz internal structure with numerous internal cavities containing multi-colored (yellow, tan, white & reddish brown) clay inclusions in extraordinary dissolution-growth patterns. The photo at left shows the top view of this piece, see also the side view. The rock crystal quartz itself has both colorless and smoky areas and is of excellent transparency. The polished domed surface of this specimen makes these internal features easily visible - a very nice quality specimen.
