Under daylight or flourescent light it appears to be mostly dark manganese minerals with some small areas of bright reddish-purple sugilite. Under incandescent light (regular bulb light) however, it is apparent that this sphere is composed of at least 35% to 40% sugilite in various shades of purplish-red to reddish-purple!
