Code#: tsvm102 Weight: 275.74 carats Size: 1.8" x 1.4" x 0.8" (4.5cm x 3.5cm x 2.1cm) Location: Merelani Hills, Tanzania Price: $482.55 This partially terminated green grossular garnet crystal weighs over 275 carats! It is very rare due to its large size. Green grossular garnets of this variety are popularly known as "tsavorite garnet" and also as "merelani mint green garnets". This green garnet specimen has very rich green color (100% natural color), and it is semi-transparent with small transparent areas that would yield several faceted gemstones between 0.10 carats and 0.4 carats each. It could also be made into several large cabochon gems, although it is a great specimen of "Merelani Mint Green garnet" just as it is. See also a view showing its natural crystal faces.

These fine quality tsavorite garnet (also known as "Merelani mint green garnet") beads are lightly included to eye clean! They were shaped into rounded disk-shaped beads which were then faceted, drilled and strung in a 18" length with a sterling silver clasp. The beads are gradational in size ranging from 2.5mm at the clasp up to 5mm at the largest diameter, and then back down to 2.5mm again.
