This natural cat's eye quartz piece was mined in Bahia, Brazil. It has a brown oxidized outer surface with fresh surfaces showing gray actinolite fibers encased within the quartz which yields very nice silver color chatoyancy when properly oriented and polished. This material can be used for making cats eye quartz cabochons, carvings, and spheres.

This natural cat's eye quartz piece was mined in Bahia, Brazil. this large piece has some white quartz lenses here and there within the gray cat's eye quartz. It has a brown oxidized outer surface with fresh surfaces showing gray actinolite fibers encased by quartz. This material yields very nice silver color chatoyancy when properly oriented and polished, and this large piece could make a wonderful large carving or several cats eye quartz spheres, with lots of scraps left over for making cabochon gems.
