The amethyst crystals on these matrix specimens have very good vitreous luster. These genuine amethyst crystals on matrix pieces make great specimens at very affordable prices. The bottom of this geode was sawn to make it rest securely in the position shown at left. See also another view. As with all of our amethyst geodes, the exterior of this geode has not been painted dark green to hide repairs and other surface details.

(18.2kg) Size: 16.3" tall x 7.5" wide x 8" deep (41.4cm x 19cm x 20cm) Location: Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil Price: $261.25 This natural amethyst geode has a half inch thick layer of very attractive white and dark gray banded agate all along its edge. The interior cavity or vug is over 5" deep, and it is lined with amethyst crystals measuring up to 1" in diameter showing pyramidal terminations with very beautiful light to medium purple color. The bottom of this geode half was sawn to make it stand up and the front face was sawn and polished. As with all of our amethyst geodes, the exterior of this geode is in its natural state and has not been painted dark green to hide surface features.

	This unique item is sold. Code#: amem109 Weight: 607 Lbs (276kg) Size: 36" tall x 30" wide x 26" deep (91cm x 76cm x 66cm) Location: Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil Price: $6460.00 This magnificent amethyst geode is shown here still within its wooden shipping crate. The interior of this geode is lined with amethyst crystals from 1" to 2" in diameter with dark violet-purple color. The exterior of this geode is completely natural, it has not been painted. The smaller amethyst crystals show mainly pyramidal terminations while the larger crystals have prismatic terminations as well. Some of the larger amethyst crystals have facet grade transparency at their tips with deep violet color. There is a rounded crystal covered formation in the lower center of this geode (see photo) measuring 8" tall x 8" wide x 6" deep that is covered with large amethyst crystals. Just to the right of this formation is a 3.5" (9cm) tall translucent calcite crystal of light beige color with perfect terminations, which crystallized on top of the surrounding amethyst crystals. Large amethyst crystals are visible within the base of this calcite crystal. There are about twenty 0.3" to 0.8" (0.75cm to 2.0cm) white translucent calcite crystals near the base of the large calcite crystal.
